The G20 is at a unique crossroads. The grouping will have three consecutive BRICS country presidencies—India, Brazil, and South Africa. This is an opportunity to ensure that the G20 keeps its raison d’etre and focuses on recovery and progress. India and South Africa share a common vision of including more ‘voices from the South.’ South Africa’s goal is to make the BRICS grouping more representative of the aspirations and needs of the African continent. How can we bring the focus to the aspirations of developing economies? What should the priorities be for this to happen? How can the G20 and BRICS groupings be leveraged to breathe life into these priorities?
