After six months of intensive work, we are proud to announce the successful completion of the process by the steering group in drafting Austria’s new security strategy. A special thanks to the experts nominated by the five parties for their significant contributions to this success. Their expertise and perspectives were invaluable in this endeavor. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the representatives of the ministries for their excellent contributions and exchange. This collaboration has been crucial to the success of this project. Special thanks to Douglas Hoyos for his nomination through NEOS and for entrusting Velina Tchakarova with this exciting and responsible task! During the sessions, Velina Tchakarova highlighted the changed security situation in Europe and worldwide, reported on current geopolitical trends, and made recommendations, such as abandoning the Irish Clause.
With the draft of Austria’s new security strategy, an important year, 2024, begins, during which a comprehensive discussion about Austria’s security in the European and global context must take place.
