Earlier in the week, markets were spooked by the results of India’s election after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fell short of the predicted landslide victory and will now have to govern with coalition partners at the cost of greater compromises. There will not be much change in terms of India’s role on the geopolitical scene.
