Future-proofing the European budget now!

What do we need to do to make sure Europe does not end up as an open-air museum for the rest of the world but remains innovative and thus competitive and prosperous?
During our NEOS Lab conference, which we co-hosted with European Liberal Forum, the experts highlighted following points:
Gabriel Felbermayr calculated that our EU membership provides excellent value for money. For an annual fee of €114 per Austrian, we receive approximately €3,861 in economic value, in addition to other EU benefits such as the freedom to travel and work anywhere within the EU.
Prof. Dr. Monika Köppl-Turyna emphasized the importance of future-proofing the European budget and highlighted the efficiency of delivering public goods in the area of climate & energy, research & development & education, on European rather than the national level.
Velina Tchakarova stressed the inconvenient truth that without security, the European Union’s existence is at risk.
–         What is now required is for Europe to deliver concrete projects for its citizens. And politicians who are willing and capable to communicate these benefits in their respective countries. One individual who does that really well is certainly Helmut Brandstätter
