Velina Tchakarova on Europe's Security and Deglobalization: "Can Europe Really Die?"

In Industriemagazin, Velina argues the world entered Cold War 2.0 with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022 — and that the DragonBear is the defining alliance of this era.

Political scientist and geopolitical expert Velina Tchakarova is convinced that the world entered a phase of a new Cold War as early as Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This "Cold War 2.0," as Tchakarova calls it, represents a turning point for today's global order. From the very beginning of this new Cold War, Russia clearly positioned itself toward China — and China tolerates Russia's actions in Ukraine. The Bulgarian-born scholar and "passionate European" describes this new alliance as the "DragonBear."
