    36. Raiffeisen Konjunkturgespräch

At the 36th Raiffeisen Konjunkturgespräch in Styria, Velina joined a high-level expert dialogue on the systemic break in the world order and what it means for European business and security.

Leading figures from Styrian business, politics, science, and media met for the 36th Economic Forum of Raiffeisen-Landesbank (RLB) Styria. RLB Styria CEO Martin Schaller welcomed numerous guests to the RLB headquarters in Raaba-Grambach. The motto of the Styrian economic summit was "Security in Times of Change – A Challenge for Business and Society."

Christian Helmenstein, Chief Economist of the Federation of Austrian Industries, delved deeper into the subject in his keynote address. Under the title "Prosperity – A Tightrope Walk Between Friend and Foe," he highlighted the importance of economic resilience, location quality, and strategic capability.

In the subsequent expert dialogue, Wolfgang Plasser (CEO of Pankl Racing Systems AG), Velina Tchakarova (geopolitical strategist and security expert), and Harald Vodosek (National Armaments Director in the Federal Ministry of Defence) discussed the effects of changing geopolitical conditions.

Velina Tchakarova: "We are experiencing a systemic break in the world order. Russia's war in Europe, the growing unpredictability of the USA, and the escalation in the Middle East are its most visible symptoms. In this new reality, companies have long since been acting like state actors: economic, resource, and energy policy are security policy. For Europe, this means an uncomfortable truth — those who do not wield hard power have no place at the table of global geopolitics. Those who act today shape the future. Those who wait will be complicit."
